Fall Essential: Wool Overcoat
If there's one item for the fall that I'm most excited about wearing this season, it's definitely an overcoat. I've been eyeing this new wool ASOS overcoat for a while online, so I finally bit the bullet and purchased it. Something about the structure, fit and length of the coat made me immediately want to get it. Not only is an overcoat the perfect addition to your fall/winter wardrobe, it make your outfits feel more upscale.
Men and fashion bloggers alike are now giving the overcoat a more simple and modern style that works well today. You can be rather traditional and pair your coat over a suit, or maybe go a bit more casual with a t-shirt and chinos. I typically gravitate more towards darker coat colors because to me, it looks more classic and I feel that I can wear it with the majority of my wardrobe. It's ironic because if you would've known me a couple of years ago, everything in my closet was extremely colorful and saturated. Everything needed a "pop of color". Don't even get me started on color blocking... I'm excited that I'm beginning to find the beauty in subtlety and monochromic color pallets. Similarly to black and white photography, there's somewhat of a timeless feel about it.
Single breasted overcoats generally work for most guys because it's less "military" and more "approachable" (although utilitarian look is very in right now.) Whatever decision you chose, make sure to do your research because I guarantee this will be one of the more expensive garments in your wardrobe.
What's kind of overcoat will you be
rocking this season?
