New York Fashion Week
It's Fashion Week in New York!
There's no greater feeling than marching down the streets of New York during fashion week. There's an energy that just takes over the city and it's so infectious. Although this is not technically my first NYFW, It's my first time attending some shows this year. It feels so unbelievable to gain more insight and to be a part of the industry.
It's a fun, but very serious week for those in the fashion industry so I really wanted to make it a point to really be inquisitive and soak up everything I'm viewing. I wasn't really interested in any after parties or events. I've heard tons of horror stories from nights that went wrong, to oversleeping and missing out on the perfect business opportunities because you had a little too much to drink Monday night. My goal was simply to network, network, network, and that I did.
The weather in New York has been pretty murky, so I made it a point to make sure I threw some trenches into my wardrobe for fashion week. This oversized trench is an absolute favorite of mine. I can't get enough of the torso cut and how the coat is shaped as a whole. It's perfect for being fashionable but perfect for any inclement to weather walk between shows. I'm not going to let a few raindrops kill my vibe. I'm also pretty enthused about the middle cut out. It really takes the design to the next level for me. I'm also starting to embrace oversized clothing more and more these days. I think people are generally afraid of it, but when styled well it can look extremely chic. In fact, I embraced it through the remainder of the week.
After living and breathing fashion in New York this week I sincerely don't want to leave. The amount of inspiration I've experienced this week has been nothing short of spectacular. There's definitely a lot of tips and tricks I'd like to share. You can follow along and view some of them via my stories on my Instagram. I'm so excited to share a couple of my highlights from my week. I really hope you enjoy. Cheers to next year!
